The Disputed Territories of Misplaced Contraband, recovering now from years of civil war that plunged the country into anarchy, today announced its readiness to rejoin the international community. Speaker Ignatio Maledictus, the newly-elected head of the Territories, has decided to mark the occasion with a diplomatic ball in the Royal Cornfish Opera House. The famous venue, home, before the war, to the West Pacific International Philharmonic Orchestra, now houses hundreds of craftsmen who are working around the clock to repair the war damage and prepare the building for the event, which has been christened the "'Hello World' Ball." East Neuk's Consul General, Ferguson Shark, will be among the high-profile diplomats attending the function. The trip is his first since The East Neuk took up the ministerial brief for diplomacy in the Alliance of Socialist States regional cabinet, and shark will be representing the Alliance as well as The East Neuk. Consul General Shark said "It'll a real pleasure to be present at the birth of a new nation.I'm sure that misplaced Contraband will come to be a great friend to both the Neuk and the Alliance. And I've heard they make a cheeky little Chardonnay that I'm looking forward to a great deal." Related links: The Disputed Territories of Misplaced Contraband
