This is RadioWorld FM 303 with a news story that SeattleNews has overlooked. Alpha Centauri is a region, much like Poland, that often finds itself under the domination of another army. Earlier events in Alpha Centauri, such as the colonisation by the Smithanian Federation, have been covered by NetWorkRadio.
Alpha Centauri was less than a week ago disturbed by the Alliance of Imperials in a failed invasion. First to Alpha Centauri were the Rejected Realms Army, commanded by High Commander Siggi, who were supplemented by Freedom Fighters, various other ADN regions, and the North Pacific Army. By morning the native delegate, Erid, had twenty nine endorsements to six for the invaders.
Days later soldiers from Kramerica unexpectedly arrived in Alpha Centauri and ejected Erid oncemore. Dissenters were also ejected, but immediately unbanned. Kramerica promised to make the universe safe for intergalactic pirates and transdimensional mice everywhere. Two days later a large force of defender nations rushed the region and re-installed Erid.
I was able to find an interview with Dutch soldier Edgar Degas, after he had happily returned home to Nederland. I asked him about the last invasion of Alpha Centauri, why Kramerica invaded, how they lost it, the counter-invasion effort and who was involved, and what Erid will do now to protect the region.
With the questions in mind, he responded with this unique account of the event.

Good day to you Sir,
According to our records, Alpha Centauri was invaded recently on March the 8th by The Alliance of Imperials. It was a sloppy attack, very noisy, and as such it attracted a lot of attention quickly. Since Alpha Centauri has been the target of invasions priorly, it tends to be a repeat target for invaders. You will have to ask them why they keep selecting the same target over and over. The locals are surely pretty tired of having to deal with these roughians. That invasion was easily defeated by GLA, ADN, RRA, and FF forces who didn't have much more to do so jumped in in great numbers. The invaders lead by The Anarchist Army were suffering a defeat of 28-6 when I could no longer bare the sight of such punishment and averted my eyes.
The latest invasion was on March 13 by Kramerica, lead by Ostella. We do not know why exactly they bothered with the invasion, but we have noticed that a failed invasion tends to cause follow-up invasions by others who sometimes feel the need to 'prove themselves' showing they can succeed where others failed. After initially succeeding to gain the delegacy, but a mere six hours later failed their own efforts by not following the rules of the game: Ostella banned the previous delegate, which violates the rule that no native in an invasion may be hindered in leaving and returning to its home region. The next day the moderators intervened and deleted the invasion lead.
There is a thread on the moderation forum where a complaint is filed against the mods for deleting the invader delegate (can't find the URL now, as the forum is way slow at the moment), with the unsurprising end-result of 'appeal denied'.
After the region became open again, some minor forces moved in to ensure the return of the delegacy to the native delegate, Erid. There was no major effort to liberate the region prior to that time, as doing so was entirely unnecessary: the invader had ruined proper gameplay by breaking the rules anyway.
As far as any future efforts done to protect the region, you'll have to ask Erid. It is the responsibility of the natives to care for their own region's security, not ours.
