Many of you may have heard about current delegate norion and the elections on the west pacific - but the results have surprised everyone...

A couple of days ago the West pacific world factbook entry read:
The West Pacific is an independent region. If you wish to contact me (Norion, since 5/27/03) please do so by telegram. Erlenav has continued collecting endorsements despite conceding the election to Norion. Norion will continue to fight Erlenav until he leaves this region. His deceit has proven he is not worthy. Please visit our offsite forum at: invisionfree.com/forums/The_West_Pacific/
I have been to the offsite forum. Unfortunatly, none of the topics load for me. I have even registered. The invision type of forum has never provided me with a problem before.

Here is what it says, posted by Norion 9/24 to >Regional Business >West Pacific's General Assemby >West Pacific's Polity for UN Delegate Elections, Protecting and Increasing Democracy
Introduction: After much consideration and observance of other regions, I have decided to put into affect several guidelines regarding the UN Delegate Position in the West Pacific. It is with great difficulty that I apply these rules, but if we as nations of the West Pacific want to safeguard are region I feel there is no other choice. Let’s start with the principles or our understanding of the position of UN Delegate:
1. The UN Delegate position is always up for election through the system of endorsements. By acknowledge this statement a UN Delegate cannot eject the outgoing UN Delegate upon receiving the Delegate seat. Competition must always continue if the outgoing UN Delegate desires.
2. The UN Delegate should represent the interests of the majority of West Pacificans.
3. The UN Delegate should respect the views of all West Pacific nations.
Solution: I believe we all acknowledge that the above should be the rule for UN Delegates in the West Pacific. The question remains then how should the election for the Delegate position occur in the West Pacific. Here are my thoughts on the issue:
Guideline: To be determined as a Candidate for the position of Delegate a nation must exceed 300 endorsements.
Rules:
1. A Candidate must publicly declare his/her candidacy. This is done by going to the Announcements board under UN Delegate Elections and announcing his/her candidacy. In the Candidates announcement it should put forward a statement of ideas, i.e. Platform. Click Here
2. A Candidate must actively post to current issues on the offsite forum (i.e. UN resolutions, etc.) in the region at least once a week.
3. A Candidate must affirm his/her belief in the guiding principles of the UN Delegate position as stated earlier.
4. A Candidate must publicly declare any outside regional relationships (i.e. Alliances).
5. A Candidate must agree to public debates with the current UN Delegate when coming within 50 endorsements.
The Penalty:
If a candidate fails to comply with any of the above without sufficient explanation for a period of two weeks from the date of notification the Candidate is ejected.
Notification: These rules are by no means mandatory. They are simply a way of protecting are region from what is happening in the East Pacific, the Pacific, and of course many smaller regions. No one will end our democracy through stealth tactics. Ammendments or Additions to the above can be added at anytime, so please voice your opinion.
The Most Serene Republic of Berhampore
Which pretty much sums up most of it, but for those who don't know, heres what happened...
1) Norion held elections for the delegacy.
2) Erlenav, who once seemed like a worthy opponent, conceded the election.
3) Defying orders, Erlenav continued collecting endorsements.
However, public views over what should happen next have varied...
allegations that some of the above are puppets of erlenav have yet to be responded to...
Norion has also said this...
Erlenav (with 531 endorsements) is gathering endorsements the west pacific as I speak - though norion (552 endorsements) has said nothing more on this issue, he has made it clear that other elections will be continuing.

Well shoot - if Erlanev is in violation of election law he should be ejected. He can have a trial after the fact but he presents a clear and present danger to the government of the West Pacific and is in violation of a clearly stated and published law.
While he may not be completely responsible (people may not be unendorsing him due to vaction or, like me, being away from the computer due to the flu) he should be ejected then a trial or at least a hearing should be scheduled to clear the matter up.

Now Erlenev is interfering with our relations with our allies? As ADN ambassador I call for his immediate expulsion from the WP!

We of Looming Doom would like all laws of the region stated clearly to us. We are new to this region, but have appered to enter a conflict. However, to attempt a more reasonable discourse, may haps the laws need to be reviewed?
Looming Doom - go to the offsite forum (address in the World Factbook Entry) and I think it is in the UN section.
Currently there is only 1 law, and it is the election law. The constitutional convention seems have stalled for lack of interest among the populace of the WP, so there are no additional laws I know of

Stop calling for the ejecting of Erlenav. The fact that Norion is giving him some kind of chance is the only thing that keeps this region from sliding into despotism.

Norion has also said this...
I think the envidence is rather clear... Go to our offsite forum. We had an election. Erlenav "conceded". Erlenav violated West Pacific Election Policy because he failed to bring his nation below 300 endorsements upon "conceding". A week later he declares himself a candidate again. But, the fact is he was gaining endorsements prior to "re-announcing his candidacy". Erlenav is a deceitful nation and I for one have no intention of letting him rule over the West Pacific.
