This is Jerome Hawkins with WorldNews broadcasted directly from RadioWorld FM 303. Today we meet Myrdinn, a former RRA soldier and we had a nice little talk. Myrdinn had asked me to come and meet him for a interview regarding his retirement from the RRA and his siding with Francos Spain. Since Myrdinn earlier has accused RadioWorld for being a biased station I took of course great delight in interviewing him.
Jerome Hawkins Myrdinn, if I have understood correctly you have defected from the Rejected Realms Army (RRA), a notorious army organisation belonging to the Rejected Realms. And by defecting you joined Francos Spain who are another notorious, if not more, nation in the Nationstates. Could you first explain who you were and what you did within the Rejected Realms Army?
Myrdinn Well, let me clear a couple of things up about what I decided to do. First, I was a staff sergeant in the RRA. My main duties were to stir up trouble in the Pacific to keep agitating the NPO. I also recruited heavily for soldiers, which quite honestly was easy during this time of war. Once a nation was ejected from the Pacific, I could go to them and ask if they were interested in joining. More often than not, I found it easy to get them in the RRA. I was also one of the training coordinators, but I primarily recruited and worked with prospects for intelligence gathering for the RRA.
Jerome Hawkins Why did you defect from the Rejected Realms Army and how come you sided with Francos Spain?
Myrdinn As for joining with Francos Spain, I have offered my services to him because I felt more allied with him than with the RRA regarding the NPO.
Jerome Hawkins Could you elaborate further with why you changed sides?
Myrdinn I was tired of the lies that were being fed concerning the "evils" of the NPO. I was recruited into the RRA when I had just begun playing, so I never really saw the Pacific government's position. Generally, in my life, I usually listen to both sides of a position before making a judgement. However, I erred with this in NS. When I was recruited for the RRA, I was immediately sent to training and was told that we were a defender organization. I thought that the idea of the defending organization against invaders was a noble idea. However, I later learned that we were also an invader organizations against governments that the RRA deemed as dictators and oppressive. That never felt right with me. I don't believe that just because you don't agree with an organization's government that you must usurp it. I mean, if this is really the position of the RRA, then they should be invading a LOT of regions throughout NS. Instead, they concentrate their efforts in the Pacific against one of the most stable governments in all of NS.
More importantly, I study criminal justice/criminology, and I agree with the Francos government setting up a civil code to modify the behavior of the citizens of the Pacific to maintain law and order. When I first saw the civil code, I knew he had made a powerful statement to the rest of NS. I think Francos is a visionary in the game, and I am surprised that the intelligent leadership in the RRA has not noticed this.
Jerome Hawkins What are the feelings from your former friends, if you had any, whitin the RRA?
Myrdinn They seem bitter about my decision, which is fine with me. They are now my enemy as long as they continue to try and usurp the NPO. I have had some rather severe threats by Dutch Mercenaries which I have taken seriously. In fact, future threats of those kinds will result in my reporting them to the mods. My opinion is that they should just get over it. I'm a bit upset that they can't respect my opinion. I could have stayed in the RRA and spied on them if I wanted to, but I did not. Anyway, others have left the RRA and were not treated this badly. I still can't believe the things that Siggi and Gres have been threatening me with!
Jerome Hawkins I guess you have been accepted with open arms from Francos Spain? You surely seem to be a political victory?
Myrdinn Well, I don't know about that. Francos is very bitter with me and I doubt he will ever trust me. I can't blame him. The NPO seem to think that when I was collecting endorsements in September that I was trying to become a member of the NPO, which is in fact incorrect. I was trying to take over the delegate position. I never tried to infiltrate the NPO because any attempt to do so is absolutely suicidal. I was surprised that Zhadnov was able to pull of what he did. Anyway, yes I was a subverter, but I was never an infiltrator.
I guess Francos and his government will have to wait and see that I really am committed to the Pacific and the ideals of the NPO. I don't really wish to become a prominent member of the government or anything, but I do want to set things right with the NPO and the great people of the Pacific (puppets and UN nations of subverters not included).
So, I guess to answer your question, no I have not been accepted by Francos or the NPO with open arms. I have been met with ridicule and suspicion, which is absolutely understandable given that I was once against them. I mean, would you suddenly trust someone who has lied to you several times in the past? I know I would not. But actions speak volumes, and I hope that in time Francos can judge me based on my actions since my split with the RRA.
Jerome Hawkins Interesting happenings during these last days. From staff sergeant with friends, to a no mans land between two enemy camps. So you doubt that Francos Spain will embrace you with open arms because of the past and you have already meet ridecule from his supporters. So why support him so fully? Wouldn't it be easier just leave the RRA that you think is evil and doing wrong than throw yourself to a region that misstrust your motives?
Myrdinn Yes, that would be the easy thing to do, but not the right thing to do. You have to understand that I wronged the Francos regime as a member of the RRA. In fact, I wronged the Pacific by joining the RRA when I was but a young nation. I feel so guilty for not at least stepping back at first and assessing just what the NPO was about. I took the words of the subversives as sacred and now I have pie in my face.
Jerome Hawkins But you won't take the easy way out then, as you yourself put it?
Myrdinn One of the reasons that I refuse to take the easy way out is that I believe in the NPO with all of my heart. As such, if there are any fence-sitters in the RRA or new nations thinking about joining a subversive organization, perhaps my actions will give them pause to evaluate the situation. Besides, if you really want to decide just who the evil organization is, you have to take it from the perspective of the denizens of the Pacific. The majority of them view the RRA and the other subversives not as liberators but as invaders. This is significant because I think the RRA and the Free Pacific Army (or whatever they call themselves now) have no justification to continue their operations in the Pacific.
Jerome Hawkins Will you stay within the Pacific from now on or will you leave that region if you cannot do what you want?
Myrdinn Yes, because I firmly believe that the Pacific region is my home. Accordingly, I believe that the NPO offers the best government you will find anywhere in NS.
Jerome Hawkins Exactly what do you want to achive in the Pacific? You have mentioned earlier that you don't want to get in to the NPO, but what is you want to do?
Myrdinn Well, as I mentioned before, I want to show NS that a person should do the right thing and support his or her delegate, especially a visionary such as Francos. I do wish to participate in events in the region, but as a good, model citizen, not as a leader or anything like that. I like to also clear up the misconceptions that have been told to younger nations about Francos and his government so that future nations will not experience what I am now.
Jerome Hawkins Many have claimed that Francos Spain is ejecting nations without cause, and yes there are many puppets that he ejects, but surely you know that they are plenty of innocents being thrown out. What do you say about that?
Myrdinn I don't believe that innocent nations are being ejected by Francos. If you look closely at the actions of each nation that gets ejected, they violated the Civil Code. Accordingly, any nation that feels it has been wrongly ejected can appeal to the High Court, which will investigate the incident. You see, most of the subversives give the hue and cry that Francos is nefarious in his ejections, but they always fail to mention that they might have violated the Code and that they did not even attempt to appeal their ejection through the proper channels. Also, each time Francos ejected me in the past was due to my being in violation of the Civil Code. In fact, he was quite cordial about my last ejection, which showed me that he quite a unique leader.
