This is Jerome Hawkins with WorldNews broadcasting from Networkradio and RadioWorld Fm303.
A couple of days ago we took the oppurtunity to interview the nation Sarda.
Unfortunatly, due to circumstances we couldn't do anything about this broadcasting is very late. We appologise to Sarda for this inconvinience.
Jerome Hawkins I wonder if you could explain for me and for the listeners who you are and what you are representing?
Sarda I am representing the Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust, the SCDT for short. It is a regional alliance geared towards mutual defense, although no members are immediately obligated to any actions. The decision making process in the SCDT is general democratic, and each region has an equal say in the matter.
Jerome Hawkins The regional alliance Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust has some members. I wonder if you could tell us who those members are?
Sarda Right now the members include: the North Pacific, the Sardaukar Confederacy, North Alerica, the Commonwealth of Solaris, the Golden Hills, the New Meritocracy, the Roman Empire, and the Free Pacific Army. Take note that the Free Pacific Army was until recently, the Pacific Army. The group moved to a new region with a founder present as part of an effort to make their region more secure. In addition to these eight members, the following regions are considering membership: the South Pacific, England, Japan, Highbury, Antarctica, and South East Asia. The South Pacific will being voting on the proposal for membership soon, and Antarctica is currently voting, with a slim majority currently supporting membership. The others are simply in the process of decision making.
Jerome Hawkins Why was the Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust created?
Sarda I created the SCDT so that the Sardaukar Confederacy's 240 members, a number that has diminished greatly since than, to use defending other regions. At one point, around 15 regions joined, but most ended up being inactive. The only regions from that period that survived through to the reformed SCDT were the Golden Hills, the Sardaukar Confederacy, the New Meritocracy, the Commonwealth of Solaris, and the Roman Empire. All others are recent additions.
Jerome Hawkins Do the Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust have some kind of charter?
Sarda As of yet I don't believe this is necessary, but when the council of SCDT Sub-Directors (Regional delegates/founders) comes together, they may propose and vote on such a possibility.
Jerome Hawkins What does the Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust's future contain. Will it stay the same or will the alliance continue to evolve to something more?
Sarda I intend to bring in as many members as possible in the near future, as part of a dedicated effort to immunize medium and large regions against region crashers. With most active regions united in a single alliance, region crashing can be avoided easily.
Jerome Hawkins If I were a founder or a delegate for some region and wanted to become a member of the Sardaukar Confederate Defense Trust. How do I do that? What is required of my region?
Sarda All you would really need to do is contact me, and ask. I will than review your region to see if it should be a member. I tend to accept regions with more than 20 members, but any less presents a potential problem. The only obligations of the region would be to show up at the SCDT Forums and participate. You don't have to do anything that you don't feel is in your region's best interest. This is part of the SCDT's appeal. Almost nothing is required, as such, but the unity of this alliance creates an atmosphere condusive of joint support.
Jerome Hawkins Anything else you would like to add?
Sarda I'd just like to encourage anyone that reads this to recommend to their regional leader the possibility of applying for membership. Or if you have your own region, contact me at www.nationstates.net
Jerome Hawkins Thank you for participating. Once again I am very sorry for the inconvienence with the lateness of this broadcast.
