The region Urbanites has a new Delegate: White Lotus Eaters.
The old Delegate, Anarchotopia has resigned his delegacy. He promised me to make a statement tomorrow, but we already have some info on why he has left the region.
Here is what we found on the Urbanites forum, these posts can be found here:
Hestrael: November 24th
Iuthia: November 25th
Anarchotopia: November 25th
Iuthia: November 26th
So far the Urbanites forum.
We also asked some of the nations in the Urbanites regions what happenend. Iuthia was the first to respond.
Iuthia: O.K it's like this, a advocate (Thaedron) in this region got caught with having two nation in the U.N at the same time by the mods and becuase of this, Thaedron was kicked out of the region by our Delegate, Arnarchotopia.
Thing is, Thaedron is a popular member of the region, he's made our map and he's done alot of good making us better. He says that he was switching his UN membership to another nation and simply forgot to take it away from his main nation. I beleive him and so does most of the region...
Eitherway, we were all a little anoyed at this becuase it was a flash decision by the delegate and it seemed very harsh... afterall, it's up to the mods (IMO) to deal with it and they did, neither nation is in the UN.
So people were jostling the delegate about it, asking for resignations and the such, some were even talking that a Civil war could occure, but no one actually said that they would do something like it.
I personally tried to quash the idea and then the delegate gets the idea that a war is about to break out and so he calls in allies... this I can only assume is so that he can assure his place as delegate... even though the removal of endorements is a democratic process.
So everyones upset and everyone thinks somethings going on... it's this huge communication problem and misunderstanding and well... you get the idea.
People don't like whats happened to Thaedron, but he has contacted us and said he is ok with the decision and he will not argue with it. Now the delegate wishes to stand down (probably for the better as he isn't going to win any elections) and leave for a period of time.
I could say more about the numberous complaints about how this has been handled, but it goes a long way and isn't worth dredging up again.
We also recieved a telegram from Insaaniyat
Insaaniyat: I'd like to add something to your news about the events that took place in the urbanites.I would also appreciate if i was not misquoted as i have been by ur company before.thanku:)
I would just like to say being delegate often requires that you make quick, on the spot decisions for the protection of your region. I know from my time as delegate of this region that it is not always possible to consult with your advocacy before making a decision as often the response is delayed. So at times like these it is left up to you to make the final call.
Anarchotopia may have made a rash decision to eject Thaedron however it is a decision that can be rectified. I do not doubt in the anarchotopian peoples ability to run and look after this region.
Thats all id like to add, thanku

And for now, we shall end with the first post on the Civil HQ of the Urbanites region from the new Delegate, after she found out she was Delegate:
White Lotus Eaters: I think that's my cue! :-)
My Fellow Urbanites, whilst I regret the events that have catapulted me into this position, I vow to serve you all to the best of my abilities, and to pursue peace and reconciliation for our region.
I shall of course need a couple of days to pick up the reins of responsibility, but I would like to say now that I hope we can revitalize and rebuild this region into a thriving community we can all be proud of. I recognize I cannot do this alone so my first task will be to draw up a list of roles I believe need filling. These will be posted on the proboards midweek for interested parties to read, I hope we can have a new team (including present members hopefully!) in place by the weekend.
In the meantime, I am aware that I am only delegate because of your endorsements which you are free to withdraw at any time. However, I would ask that anyone who is a UN member who has not endorsed me, does so for as long as they are not unhappy with my actions.
Here's to a bright future for Urbanites! :-)
Hopefully tomorrow, Anarchotopia will give us his statement.
This was Yasmin, good evening to you all, and good luck to the Urbanites.

May I refer you to this:

Perhaps these elections went on without me noticing, or perhaps Im just stupid, but I dont think they ever happened
and I would like to ask this question again:
Although we understand that many nations were set to disappear due to inactivity a long time ago, what do you plan to do to keep interest in Urbanites strong and to replace those that have left/disappeared?
(although I do note that around 10 or so new nations seem to have appeared from nowhere very suddenly in the region, which is nice)

Yeah... me thinks they are the delegates allies backing him up in a OOC way... unless they want to post that they are actually moving forces near our continent.
Yes, we have not had elections and I would suggest they happen relatively soon so we can capitalise on the publicity we have.

I understand and share your concerns about the state of decline of our region but as recent events have shown the Delegate cannot do anything without the consent of the region. The region very rarely bothers to show interest let alone give consent thus the Delegate cannot address these important concerns.
Further to this the price I’m paying for bringing the rebellion against democracy to an end is stepping down as Delegate so I suggest you hold the thought and take it up with the new Delegate as soon as he's elected.
As for making gains on the publicity I don’t see that is possible most other nations either don’t know what is going on or would be unlikely to come to a region that jumps to a war footing against it’s Delegate so quickly.
The only real interest that has come out of this is that our friends and allies have shown great sympathy with me and I’ve had many offers to join other regions!
The rebels may of won but the region did not. A point that is lost on them I’m sure…

Personally I've already pointed out that the whole "war"thing is a huge communiation issue, I don't think war was the case at any point.
As for automatically supporting my delegate? I'll do what I want to do, if I want to remove my endorsement without any elections then that’s up to me, I don’t think anything is going to happen because of it because I’m a native of this region, it would almost be a crime to boot me on the principal that I don’t want to endorse someone.
I don’t care if this region has 10 nations or 100, I’m happy with it still and even if everyone goes I’ve got my region in which I’m based… my role-play is all based on the boards where I actually have a lot to do, even if most of our nations die, I’ve got allies from those boards who can help me in a war scenario, the way I see it is that I don’t care what happens to the region ultimately, providing no one kicks me out I’m ok with it being small. Being a Native I can’t be kicked out without good reason and being a big military nation no one can RP a war with me and win (seeing as it would take three times as many forces to even match me, being the defender and all) assuming I use my allies.
