Hello loyal listeners! This is Dan Melican, broadcasting live from the Pacific Army headquarters, and let me tell you, getting heard over all the troops going through their morning drills is no easy task. I have managed to track down the nation Ubotxus, new delegate of this famed region. Since Thedoc had been delegate since the beginning, I naturally wondered how this had come to pass. So I asked--*drowned out by a passing regiment doing its cadance*
DO YOU PEOPLE MIND, I'M TRYING TO BROADCAST!!![/color]
Sorry about that folks, but perhaps I should get this interview going now.
Dan: Mr. Ubotxus, thank you for allowing this interview. I know your schedule is very busy.
Ubotxus: Not a problem sir, I'm happy to be here.
Dan: I'll make this quick for you
Ubotxus: Sure
Dan: How did you come to be delegate of this fine region? Was it planned?
Ubotxus: It was quite a surprise really. I had been in the city of Solvang with my family
for the "Danish Days" festival and when I returned I was the new U.N. delegate
for the Pacific Army. Quite a pleasant surprise actually. I'm just sorry about
the circumstances.
Dan: What does the former delegate, Thedoc, think of this?
Ubotxus: I haven't spoken with Thedoc yet. I'm not sure if you heard or not, but he
is having a family crisis and stepped down in order to attend to more pressing
affairs. I have chosen to respect his privacy and expect he will keep
all of his friends informed as soon as there are any improvements.
Dan: Do you have any plans now that you have this position? You know, plans for the region?
Ubotxus: Since it has been only one week I have not had a chance to formulate
any plans yet. I have heard from a few of the member of the Pacific Army,
as well as some fellow delegates, and am getting used to my new duties. I am
open to suggestions and have had some very spirited debates, very interesting
debates.
Dan: Do you enjoy being delegate of the region, and if so, what is the best part?
Ubotxus: It’s quite a rush! I had no idea how involved this could be. To me the
best part, so far, has been being able to discuss proposals and resolutions
with other nations. The exchange of ideas and opinions, even when we disagree,
is by far the most interesting aspect of being a delegate.
Dan: You are no doubt in the region because you were kicked out of the Pacific by Francos,
InfernoIce, or Poskrebyshev. Is this true, and if so, is deposing them one of your
primary concerns?
Ubotxus: As a matter of fact I left willingly. I received a telegram that a new region was
being formed and thought that it would be exciting to join. I had not had any
problems with any of the other nations in the pacific, it just seemed to be
a logical progression.
At this point in time my primary concern is to keep this region safe and growing.
I feel that the battle for the pacific is an issue that each nation should
examine individually. There was a point in time when Franco was a member of the
Pacific Army. I don't know how or why. I have a feeling that we will be seeing
a lot more on this subject in the near future. Hopefully it can be rectified
with a minimum of controversy.
Dan: Is there anything else you would like to add at this time?
Ubotxus: Only that I pledge to do my best to represent the member nations I serve.
I hope that these nations will bear with me as I get used to these new
responsibilities.
Dan: Thanks again and I hope to see you again sometime...*the sound of automatic weapons firing drowns out any attempt at speech*
ACH! THAT ONE GRAZED ME! WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU PEOPLE? I'M A CIVILIAN!!!
