Very early today, just before the UN update, a huge invasion of the Pacific was launched. Its infamous dictatorial Delegate Francos Spain quickly alerted the Moderators. The Game Mod Neutered Sputniks was on duty at the time, and reported that an initial check had failed to reveal any foul play. Truly this was a unique example of military cooperation, but made very mysterious by the very young age of the nations involved...
But it was not to be. A second, more thorough check, confirmed the presence of 125 UN multis, enough to have deposed Francos Spain with ease had he been less vigilent. A nation called Dog Lake was spotted admitting responsibility on a regional forum and quickly made an unapolagetic statement in the Moderation Forum:
"As for mounting a legal invasion of the size we are talking about, it is nearly impossible. If my plan, which was not sanctioned by the PA [Pacific Army], had worked, none of this would really matter. The initial plan was not to ban the troika, but I imagine those plans are now changed. As far as I am concerned, they better get to know Kandarin real well.
We tried for a month or so to get an invasion going, and out of desperation I took this initiative on. As Neut [Neutered Sputniks] stated, he's run into me before. Nothing like this, and it took some effort on both our parts. Good for you that my security system was not up to par. I doubt any credible invasion will work, ever, on a scale this size.
Our main problem is, we don't know who we can trust, and that many individuals, security is our main concern. How can you tell someone to endorse a country, or a list of nations, when you cannot tell them who to endorse. I know this is a poor excuse for what I was perported to have done, and I would have liked to have had a few of my friend's countries that were deleted, after the invasion. Some, I did think had stupid names, and would have let these die. Moot now." - Dog Lake
The invasion force was quickly slaughtered by the Moderator, within a few hours of its launch. Crazy Girl, in many ways the arch enemy of Francos Spain, mourned the failure of the invasion, although it was clear she had played no part in it. Today, the policy and unity of the Pacific exiles may lie in ruins.
