The RRA and ACC have been enemies for a long time - as anyone will tell you...
And its not hard to see why - the RRAs strong defense attitude clashes heavily with that of the ACC - who, despite what they might say, have previously been labelled with the title of 'region crashers' and 'griefers' (though they strongly deny both)
I am joined by Gres leader of the RRA and former delegate of the rejected realms, who hopefully can give us a better insight into the rivalry.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Hello there Gres!
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
Hello.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
How did the ACC RRA rivalry start?
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
The rivalry has existed since the founding of the RRA. The AAC (ACC at that time) was much more aggressive in its earlier days. Their goal is one of global conquest and domination. On the other hand, the RRA was established to avenge those who had been unfairly ejected. As you can see, this would fundamentally put the RRA and the AAC at odds.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Who is the leader of the AAC?
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
Mr. Nonchalant
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
What dealings have you have previously with the AAC?
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
When I was delegate of the RR, shortly before Kandarin and I attacked the East Pacific, I was accused of being a puppet for the ACC. Since that time every action I take has proven that isn't the case. The RRA has repeatedly defended region after region from attacks. The AAC used to be our greatest enemy but they have long since fallen into disarray and disorder.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
What are the AAC all about?
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
Domination.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Why do you hate them so much?
[glow=green,2,300]Gres:[/glow]
I don't hate the ACC so much as I hate the idea of what the ACC stood for--taking advantage of the weak. Even as the ACC falls into ashes a similar organization will rise up. However, the RRA will always be here watching and waiting--willing and able to beat them back and protect those who need our help.
Organisations within NationStates who are enemies will of course, send members in to spy. I am joined by Siggi - high commander of the RRA, who admits to having done so.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Siggi! You are a member of the RRA - could you tell us about your position and the organization - for those who don't know?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
The RRA (Rejected Realms Army) is a group of nations organized to protect and defend the rights of those in the Rejected Realms. This includes many types of operations but overall we defend regions and fight delegate abuses to the best of our ability. I hold the position of High Commander, in concert with Phoenix Gres.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES[/glow]
As explained at the top, it seems you are willing to tell us about the ACC... what is your position there - if my sources are correct, the RRA and ACC are enemies...
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
Yes the RRA and ACC, or as it is now called the Atlantic Alliance (AA), have been enemies almost since the creation of the RRA. In the AA I am known as Hmmm, a shadowy character in what was orginally MrNonchalant's and now is New People's Ministry of Intelligence.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
How long have you been a member of both?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
Well I guess I have been in the ACC/AA officially just a tad longer than I have been "officially" in the RRA. I started out in both well over 6 months ago.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
I have experienced similar situations in my NationStates life - did your loyalties to the RRA ever waver?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
My loyalties to the RRA are more of a loyalty to the Rejected Realms. I would dare say that at the outset my relations with Gres and Kandarin were rather strained. But our joint plan to infitrate the AA intelligence structure as a "spy" in the RRA allowed me to serve the RR and have an ear in the AA as well. So to answer specifically my loyalty to the Rejected Realms and its concerns has never waivered.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
When this all becomes public, what action will you take?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
Well it is not so much what action I will take as much as the actions I will not. I will no longer be feeding MrNonchalant's Intelligence arm to gain the access to their information. Our recent and ongoing efforts to stem the AA agressive new mandates will continue. I will just cease to live this "double life".
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Have you ever given false information to either side?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
No, my position required me to give accurate reports to the AA in case another spy was inside the RRA. As for the RRA, they had my loyalty so there was no reason to lie.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
How do you think people will react? Does anyone else know?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi[/glow]
Well Phoenix Gres and Kandarin are well aware, as this plan was hatched with their full agreement. As for any other's - of course New People and MrNonchalant know of me, but they currently believe I am an AA spy. At least the last time I bothered to check their Forum.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Do you still follow your original intentions on spying on the ACC? Has your opinion of them changed?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi[/glow]
Well obviously I can no longer spy on them personally, and they can not use their belief of me as there "spy" against the RRA. I am not sure my thoughts have changed as much as I have gained a understanding of them to a degree. The RRA has and had a certain reputation, the AA does as well. Until you are inside either one, you don't get the true picture of what they are about.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
If it was not for your commitments to the RRA, would you consider joining the ACC permanently?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
MrNonchalant and New People are exceptional at their jobs and their commitment to the AA cause. I have no dislike for them and never did, just a healthy dose of caution where their intentions are concerned. I would tend to doubt that our interests lie in the same areas however, so I doubt I would have signed up permanently.
[glow=red,2,300]TWINKLES:[/glow]
Do you feel the rivalry between the RRA and ACC is settling down slightly? Will it ever end?
[glow=blue,2,300]Siggi:[/glow]
Actually it seems to have been in a lull during my time as a spy inside the AA. As for now it seems to be heating up again, with some added support from different fronts. This actually led to my disclosure, since many of our new allies might not understand this if it came from the AA.
In response to a telegram sent by me, the ACC have said the following.
unfortunately, due to time problems, the following telegram was sent later on:
However, we do have additional information, provided by the forums...
For additional information on both organistations, I suggest you contact Gres, siggi (RRA) or MrNonchalant (ACC)

Kandarin
We've never gotten along. When the RRA first began, the ACC saw us as easy prey and harrassed us to no end.
For the past few months we've mostly left each other alone, but Atlantic attacks on the ADN (of which the RR and RRA are members) have dragged us back into conflict with them.
